About the Humane Wildlife Control Association
The Humane Wildlife Control Association (HWCA), a 501(c)(6) trade association, was created to advocate for and support humane, non-lethal methods of resolving human–wildlife conflicts. HWCA was incorporated in April 2013 to advance a new standard in wildlife conflict resolution - one grounded in modern animal welfare principles, evidence-based science, and professional excellence.
HWCA is dedicated to advancing humane, science-based wildlife conflict resolution through:
• Developing and promoting humane standards and best practices grounded in modern animal welfare principles
• Advancing exclusion-based and poison-free methodologies as the foundation of effective wildlife control
• Supporting professional skills training and continuing education for wildlife control operators
• Developing and administering certification programs that recognize ethical, competent professionals
• Investing in research and improved techniques to strengthen humane and effective outcomes
• Serving as a trusted resource for professionals, municipalities, policymakers, and the public
