As temperatures drop, mice, rats, squirrels, raccoons, and opossums start looking for warm, protected places to shelter — including our homes.
Join us for a practical, homeowner-focused workshop on how to make your home and property less accessible to wildlife this winter.
What You’ll Learn
• How to inspect your home and identify common entry points
• Basic eviction and exclusion strategies (small mammals)
• How to properly seal and rodent-proof your home
• Materials that work — and those that don’t
• Best practices for removing animals already inside
• How to monitor activity and determine success
• The trouble with rodenticides
• Ways to help protect gardens and vehicles from rodent damage
Led by experienced humane wildlife-control professionals with decades of experience resolving human-wildlife conflicts humanely and without the use on poisons or kill-traps.
Proceeds support the Humane Wildlife Control Association’s education, training, and advocacy programs.
This workshop is intended for members of the public working on their own homes or properties and is not intended for pest-control operators, wildlife-control professionals, exclusion contractors, consultants, or others seeking professional or commercial training.
